Courses

Thank you to everyone who has been patiently waiting for new course dates for 2023.
I am proud to announce that from December this year 2022, I am relocating my studio to 'Longside' at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, with ceramic artist & collegue James Oughtibridge.
The majority of courses that we will offer from the new studio space will be organised by our new venture CLAY which is set up to facilitate the 'five day courses' run by James Oughtibridge and myself.
However I have planned a select few weekly and three day courses that I will deliver myself from the new studio. Click here to see available courses.

Practical work is demonstration-led and tailored, as much as is possible, to the needs of the individuals. Guidance and help is given throughout.

These exciting courses are suitable for a beginner or a more confident artist. Please advise of your experience when you book the courses. Class sizes are limited, 8-10 students to ensure individual guidance & a productive group dynamic.

The materials provided on this course are the materials that I use to make work to exhibition standard. There are no extra charges for materials or firings.

The courses are focused on making with a range of handbuilding techniques, surface and texture with 2D media, slips, underglaze and oxide, but there is some flexibility on ideas and outcome. You will be amazed at how versatile the techniques can be and at the dramatic surface effects that can be created in a relatively small space of time.

The courses are very much designed to send you away with a proudly finished piece of decorated sculptural work and feeling very much inspired and confident to go back to your own studios/classes, armed with new ideas & techniques to try.
